TUTORIAL: HOW TO INSTALL MEDIATEK USB VCOM DRIVER

The installation of mediatek USB VCOM Drivers cannot be overemphasized because of its need whenever you want to fix anything on your mtk devices, either you need to unroot, upgrade, or even backup your stock rom.

This tutorial will take you thru the process of installing the drive on your Pc.

Installing The Driver

1. Download the driver from Here

2. Extract the downloaded vcom driver on your Pc. 

3.From your Pc go to device manager>> click ACTION>>select Add legacy hardware. 

4. Select "install the hardware that I manually select from a list(Advance) ”  and click Next. 

5. Select “show all devices” and click on Next

6. Click on“Have a disk...”

7. Browse to your vcom extracted folder>> Drivers>> USB vcom Driver>> win7, and select usb2ser_win764 or usb2ser_win7, depending on whether your Pc is 64bits or 32bits respectively. Click OK afterward.
8. Select Mediatek preloaded usb vcom port and click Next, Next, and Finish.

9. That's all.
