FACEBOOK MESSENGER NOW GETS FACE RECOGNITION FEATURE

Using facebook messenger just gets a lot more interesting as Facebook recently confirms the launching of a brand new feature called Photo Magic on its Messenger. Photo Magic is a face
recognition technology that makes it easier for messenger users to share pictures.

How it works

Photo Magic strolls the photos that you've not yet uploaded to Facebook and are in your camera roll. If it detects a Facebook friend's photo in your camera roll,  it will suggest that you share the pictures with them through messenger.

Detecting a Facebook friend's photo in your device will be so easy for Photo Magic since it employs the same technology that is already in use with tag suggestions in Main Facebook News feeds and moments.

Another good thing is that you can opt out of Photo Magic if you are the type that wants to keep your photos private. If you do not want your face to be recognized in other people's photos or have Photo Magic detects friends' faces in your camera roll, you can deny messenger the permission to activate the feature.

Photo Magic feature is accessible only for Android users in Australia for now. It will be available for iOS Messenger shortly, with a global rollout slated for the upcoming months.
