CRADLECOUNT: THE SIMPLE MEDICAL APP DEVELOPED BY A NIGERIAN LADY TO REDUCE MORTALITY RATE IN AFRICA

Cradlecount is an app that was developed by a young Nigerian woman named Kesandu Nwokolo, and meant to help reduce infant and maternal mortality in Africa.

Many pregnant women in Africa deliver unexpectedly as a result of errors in estimating the expected date of delivery, and this could lead to complications resulting in more maternal and infant mortality.

How The App Works

Cradlecount helps women and health practitioners to calculate accurately the expected date of delivery using the last menstrual period. It has alerts that remind pregnant women to register and also to follow up their antenatal care.

Another feature of the app is that it sends regular pregnancy and health tips to the expectant mothers.

The application works fine even without no Internet connection.

CradleCount can be downloaded on Google Playstore by searching out “cradlecount”.
